Title or Location: Stonehenge with light dusting of snow
My family and I travelled back to the UK in January this year. We emigrated in 2010 to Melbourne. Visiting Stonehenge was always on my "bucket list" and I feel very privileged to have been able to fulfil this little dream with my kids in tow. When we arrived, the ancient power of the monument was breathtaking and the ice cold wind that blew across the field made us shiver. The white dusting of soft delicate snow, next to the cold hard rock was simply magical. I've been painting in watercolo

This A3 watercolor was done as a commission for a Texas based charity called Leave it for the Pooch. I was very happy to be a part of this and for the last 4 years have done a special piece just for this auction and send to Texas as my contribution for this cause. I think raccoons are very interesting animals and have something of a reputation as being rascals. The mask around their eyes doesn't detract from this thinking about them, I think. Raccoons cross our backyard frequently and I enjoy viewing them so when I saw the photos taken by Laura Jackson on the Reference photos for artists Facebook page, I decided to use the photo as a reference for the Raccoons watercolor painting.
