Title or Location: "Loving Lessons"
This A3 watercolor was done as a commission for a Texas based charity called Leave it for the Pooch. They approached me in 2021 and asked if I would like to donate some of my work for their yearly raffle that raises money for animal rescue. I was very happy to be a part of this and for the last 4 years have done a special piece just for this auction and send to Texas as my contribution for this cause. "Loving Lessons" is this years painting. My daughter has always had a special bond with

This is a large work (84cm x 110cm) of a yellow tailed black cockatoo in pinecones, in watercolour. The work was completed in 2022, and was one of a series of larger watercolour works on Australian black cockatoos - I have also completed watercolour pieces of red tailed and carnaby's black cockatoos. All these works are in either private or public collections, but I do have plans for more. While I love birds (and parrots in particular) I also enjoy painting people (including portraits), ani

I painted this one for a watercolour weekly challenge on FB where the subject was fish. My goldfish is looking up towards daylight. I spattered clean water on damp paint to give the impression of light dispersion in shallow water. I like the effect of clean water pushing paint away to add interest and light.

Title or Location: ?Emptying the Sea?
I had taken my grand children to the beach in Buckroe, Virginia. My three year old granddaughter, Mia was quite serious and intent on getting all the water she could in her little red pail to haul it back on the beach to a sand castle she was building. Her actions were so beautifully innocent and yet filled with determination. I just had to capture the moment.
