You will be guided to complete some "warm-up" colour and drawing exercises and prepared for doing ink and watercolour-based painting in the session. You will learn how to quickly sketch and capture multiple subjects in the garden with ink and wash technique. You will be advised to keep things rather loose and time your drawing/painting.

Our 2 hour meetups are held in a different location each time, usually outdoors.

Bring your own materials. If you are a complete beginner all you need to start is a set of watercolour paints, brushes, and water container.

Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to experienced artists. The instructor is there to help everyone.

Title or Location: Mornington beach houses
Walking along Mornington's Scout Beach, I took multiple reference images of the beach houses, as they looked so iconic and colourful. Nice walk along there and the pier. I then drew a 2 point perspective of the beach houses in order to make the perspective more dramatic and the landscape reduced of clutter. Painted on A3 Art Spectrum 100 cotton cold press using Art Spectrum artist quality watercolour paint. Challenge was using the 0 line brush on the texture of the cold press.

The A-frame Lounge The object of this painting is the A-frame Lounge the subject is a dreamlike state focusing on atmosphere and mood. I aimed to create a warm yet solemn tone, reflecting a memory from my youth over 31 years ago. Back then, I worked at Allen Lewis Manufacturing in North Denver with a friend who was an airbrush artist.
