It was my first time to learn watercolour techniques. Jamie put me at ease and I learnt and achieved way more than I expected. She has a relaxed teaching style which to me is one of the most important things when trying to learn something new. Thanks Jamie and thank you, Melbourne Watercolour Group for being there, for us novices. 👩‍🎨💞

Amazingly led by Jaime. I enjoyed every minute She has the wonderful capacity to answer all queries and provide guidance as and when needed. I also really appreciate the thought and effort Jaime put in the painting pdf guide, and how she is kind enough to share them with the participants. Thank you.

A very friendly enjoyable and informative session. Jamie is a great teacher, gentle and encouraging. I felt relaxed and learned new techniques on watercolour that left me motivated and looking forward to more The setting is very especial,as though in an open public space, there's still aa intimate group connection sitting around a round table. The space itself is great,is full of natural light and has good energy.

We were shown various styles of water colour painting and then got to pracise it ourselves. I found it helpful to have a timer on so that there was less fussing with the artwork. I thouhgt Jamie was very knowledgable and comfortable with the subject. She was also very approachable which made it a fun experience. It was also good to get some tips about our paintings and techniques.

Jaime's creative career spans from being an art coordinator, digital design lecturer in higher education, cutscene designer in video games, graphics designer in retail and design sprint facilitator in Australia and Asia. Her facilitation style empowers individuals to think and create differently in a safe space.

The mark-making process includes being curious, incorporating mistakes and doing deliberate practice.

-How to be uniquely you via art and design?
-How can we be inspired by modern and contemporary art?
-How to collaborate with others using design sprint principles?

Some favourite quotes:
-We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit ~ Aristotle.

?Peony talk? was inspired by a quiet moment during burnout. Resting in stillness, I found calm and quiet strength while gazing at peonies. Free from distractions, I painted this work as a reflection of rest and inner peace.

Title or Location: Island Sunset
This 9x12 watercolor was inspired by a photograph of the Turks and Caicos Islands at sunset where she was recently visiting. Plam trees dominate tge scene overlaying the bushes with a peek of the cabanas and calm ocean in the background. You see the sky at sunset with dark rainclouds on the horizon. I painted this piece to exemplify atmospheric landscapes with both energy and tranquility,
